What triggered the error message you report below? Where do you see the error message? When you insert a CD into the device, it should show up with an icon on the background. Does this work or not? Do you see the problem only when you try to access the CD? What program are you using to try to access the CD device? Does it fail to work with both audio and data CD's, or just one type of CD? Are you using an x86 or Sparc machine?
