Fluendo already has MPEG2, MPEG4, and AC-3 plugins available for Linux. The reason they do not support them on Solaris yet is technical. Their current codec plugin code depends on the IPP (Intel Performance Primitives) library, which is not yet available or supported on Solaris. I am currently working with Fluendo to help them work around this issue, and we hope that they will have these plugins available for Solaris in the next few months. Right now the GNOME GUADEC conference is going on. Julien Moutte, the owner of Fluendo, said that their DVD player should be available for sale in November. Brian
