Regarding shared folders in VB + Solaris, I use CIFS instead. It works almost 
(there are some files I can not see). There is a good how-to I have posted in 
the "CIFS" sub forum here. Go there and read how to set up CIFS + VB instead of 
"Shared folders" which caused problems for me.
