Hi Alfred,
first I would like to say thanks for your great work to make
firefox 3 available in Solaris 10.
Yesterday I unpacked your new firefox tarball, and in the depend dir
I found all extra libraries twice:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
...
519151 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 234568 Jul 18 10:44 libatk-1.0.so.0*
519152 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 234568 Jul 18 10:44 libatk-1.0.so.0.2009.1*
519153 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 914644 Jul 18 10:44 libcairo.so.2*
519154 -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 914644 Jul 18 10:44 libcairo.so.2.11.6*
...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Symbolic links would save a lot of space :-)
For firefox 3.0 you had uploaded these depend libs in a extra tarball.
Why are they back in the firefox tarball with ff-3.0.1? I think updates
are easier if there are smaller packages.
Maybe you could tell us something about the version numbers of the
libraries:
/usr/lib/libatk-1.0.so.0.700.3 [1.7.3 - 139968 bytes]
^^^^^
depend/lib/libatk-1.0.so.0.2009.1 [x.x.x - 234568 bytes]
^^^^^^
/opt/firefox3deps/lib/libatk-1.0.so.0.901.0 [1.9.1 - 415988 bytes]
^^^^^
I'm a bit surprized about these numbers.
Thanks again and greetings from germany
Willi
