I went to this page: http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0.1/releasenotes/#contributedbuilds and
downloaded: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.0.1/contrib/solaris_pkgadd/firefox-3.0.1.en-US.opensolaris-i386-pkg.bz2 . First a couple of RFE's before the actual bug report: 1.) When it is installed it does not create a "Start" button icon for itself - so I will have to figure out how to add one. 2.) The Installer does not ask if I want to replace (perform an upgrade of) Firefox 2 during the installation (I do not). I am running SX:CE snv_93 upon which I Cap-Eye-Installed OpenSolaris b94 (available from: http://dlc.sun.com/osol/on/downloads/b94/ ) I am using the x86 platform files. The 'bug' is that when I run Firefox 3 I get these messages on my terminal: # /opt/sfw/lib/firefox/firefox (firefox-bin:101174): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Could not create per-user Gnome application-registry directory: /root/.gnome/application-info (firefox-bin:101174): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Deprecated function. So I created the directory "/root/.gnome" and I no longer get the warnings when I run Firefox 3 -- BUT neither while running FF3 nor after terminating it do I see any files in the newly created directory. I get the error because the directory does not exist, but after I create it FF3 does not seem to use it ! Thanks, Rob ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
