Hey there - I know this not exactly the appropriate forum, but I'm not sure which would be more appropriate at this point, so I'll start here.
I have a phenom-II whitebox that's not able to run any of the more recent opensolaris kernels. http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=11101 is the bug I (re)submitted. Essentially, it comes down to this... An attempted boot gives me this: Booting from physical media (in a harddisk-less machine) couldn't load the kernel. (In both cases the -kvs flag was used to the kernel$ grub argument). 64-bit mode gave this traceback: Unexpected trap instruction pointer 0x28 error code, optional 0x4 code segment 0x46 flags register 0xfffffffffbc4edb8 return %rsp 0x8 return %ss 0xee20 Attempting stack backtrace: Stack traceback: 0x28) 0x4c000000b8ec8148) Unexpected trap instruction pointer 0xfffffffffb81a022 error code, optional 0x0 code segment 0x28 flags register 0x10097 return %rsp 0xfffffffffbc4ecf8 return %ss 0xee20 Attempting stack backtrace: Stack traceback: bop_traceback+3a) 0x4c000000b8ec8148) Nested trap Press any key to reboot. 32-bit mode gave this traceback: Loading kmdb... module /kernel/misc/kmdbmod: text at [0xfeaa4760, 0xfeb17937] data at 0xfec94958 module /kernel/misc/ctf: text at [0xfeb17938, 0xfeb1f2f7] data at 0xfeca54d8 Unexpected trap instruction pointer 0xe2c3f00a error code, optional 0x10 code segment 0x10 flags register 0x10046 Attempting stack backtrace: Stack traceback: 0xe2c3f00a(0x10,0x10046,0xa,0x8,0xfe80ae00,0x0) 0xe2c3f00a(0xf0007378,0xf000e816,0xf000fea5,0xf000e987,0xf000ef6f,0xf000ef6f) 0xf000ff54Unexpected trap instruction pointer 0xfe815888 error code, optional 0x0 code segment 0x10 flags register 0x10082 Attempting stack backtrace: Stack traceback: bop_traceback+74(0x10,0x10082,0x4,0xfec0a023,0xfec3c270,0xffffffff) bop_traceback+74 unexpected trap in early boot Press any key to reboot. Does anyone know what's happening with this bug, and is there any way we can get a little focus on it? Surely, it's gotta be impacting lots of folks by now... Or - Am I, and the original bug submitter, and a friend or 3 of mine the only ones feel this pain? Nathan.
