gnome-terminal has its under edit -> keyboard shortcuts FireFox nor Thunderbird have a built in mechanism for customising all available keyboard shortcuts. However, there is an extension available that lets you customise almost all of them called keyconfig: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1537 The bad news is that (last I checked) it wouldn't let me customise copy and paste.
