My recollection is that we basically had to patch applications  
individually, but I could be mistaken there. Cc'ing Erwann, I think he  
did most of this work at the time.

As far as I know, there's still no user configurable way to set global  
shortcuts for common application commands like Cut, Copy and Paste.
