fontconfig options in /etc/font are set per-computer, where hint-style
should be a per-user preference (as gnome correctly handles) and RGB/BGR
layout is a per-monitor preference (which gnome gets a bit wrong, since
it also tracks it per user, which isn't quite right when you're hot desking
to a Sun Ray with a different monitor, or attaching an external monitor
or projector to your laptop, or simply have two different types of
monitors attached to your desktop).
