Is this bug still present in Ubuntu 12.04? ** Summary changed:
- usb umts stick 1c9e:9603 works only after nm restart + NM fails to configure USB umts stick; restarting NM fixes this -- MobiData MBD-200HU ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/612067 Title: NM fails to configure USB umts stick; restarting NM fixes this -- MobiData MBD-200HU Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Binary package hint: network-manager in the hopefully attached syslog, the stick is connected at Jul 31 16:01:46 and correctly switched to modem functionality by usb_modeswitch. At 16:03:23, NM decides that it doesn't want to wait for another application (modem-manager?) anymore and gives up. The modem and the already configured connection is not shown in NM. Then I waited for some time and at 16:13:44 restarted NM. After that, the configured connection appeared in NM and connecting/using the connection/disconnecting works without problem. The stick itself is a 1c9e:9603 after switching to modem, before it is 1c9e:f000. It is sometimes called "XS Stick W14" or "MobiData MBD- 200HU".
