Title: 413c:2003 USB keyboard frequently stops working Status in “xserver-xorg-input-evdev” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: My USB keyboard randomly stops working in Ubuntu 12.10. Physically detaching then reattaching causes it to work again for a time. There doesn't seem to be a consistent time to when it stops working. Testing on Windows 7 doesn't give any such problems so the hardware seems to be fine. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKeyboardDetection#generalinfo : + lsusb -v > ~/lsusb-v https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+attachment/3404223/+files/lsusb-v + uname -a > ~/uname-a https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+attachment/3404240/+files/uname-a + cat /proc/version_signature > ~/version_signature https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+attachment/3404241/+files/version_signature + sudo lspci -vvnn > ~/lspci-vvnn https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+attachment/3404259/+files/lspci-vvnn https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKeyboardDetection#In_case_your_USB_keyboard_stops_working_after_a_while + dmesg > ~/dmesg_boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+attachment/3404260/+files/dmesg_boot + diff -ns ~/dmesg_boot ~/dmesg > ~/dmesg_diff https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+attachment/3404261/+files/dmesg_diff + cp /var/log/Xorg.0.log ~/Xorg.0.log_tmp https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+attachment/3404282/+files/Xorg.0.log + diff -ns ~/Xorg.0.log ~/Xorg.0.log_tmp > ~/Xorg.0.log_diff https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+attachment/3404283/+files/Xorg.0.log_diff ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: linux-image-3.5.0-17-generic 3.5.0-17.28 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-17.28-generic 3.5.5 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-17-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx ApportVersion: 2.6.1-0ubuntu3 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: kahping 1683 F.... pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: kahping 1683 F.... pulseaudio Date: Sat Oct 13 08:18:03 2012 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=a8e14165-fc4c-446b-b4fb-30d858c0d447 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Beta amd64 (20120926) MachineType: ECS A780GM-A ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcFB: 0 VESA VGA ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.5.0-17-generic root=UUID=9b1bed7b-ef46-4723-aa17-4e7ef94d1375 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.5.0-17-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.5.0-17-generic N/A linux-firmware 1.94 RfKill: 0: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no SourcePackage: linux UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 11/23/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: American Megatrends Inc. dmi.bios.version: 080014 dmi.board.name: A780GM-A dmi.board.vendor: ECS dmi.board.version: 1.0 dmi.chassis.type: 3 dmi.chassis.vendor: ECS dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnAmericanMegatrendsInc.:bvr080014:bd11/23/2009:svnECS:pnA780GM-A:pvr1.0:rvnECS:rnA780GM-A:rvr1.0:cvnECS:ct3:cvr: dmi.product.name: A780GM-A dmi.product.version: 1.0 dmi.sys.vendor: ECS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/1066189/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
