I kept investigating and, in the sound configuration, it shows digital and analog output. The analog works with headsets (or speakers) and only the left one, but this is enough to provide a good sound.
About the video, I had problems, the pixels looked very ugly, but only in ubuntu, not when the bios started neither at the bios menu. I repeteadly received an error report about jockey-gtk. I removed (unistalled) it, restarted twice and done. Now I have a new issue, sometimes the mouse pointer is freeze or lost. I think all these problems may solve if I update the bios, but HP only provides a Windows .exe to do so (and specifically under Windows Vista). I let you know how this evolve, in case someone has the same problem.
