As a considerable amount of time would be spent attempting to slipstream the mainline kernel in the live environment, it would be best to just install the mainline kernel as previously requested, and you could always boot back into your prior kernel and delete the new kernel via the instructions previously provided.

A second later on the ipad a modal popup appears saying something like the following in English: Trust this computer? Trust / Don't trust After clicking 'Trust', a popup appears on Ubuntu: Unable to mount Stephens iPad DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) On the ipad, the modal popup reappears. Clicking 'Trust' again gives the same result as before.
