Title:
software center memory leak in 12.10 beta2

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I noticed a large amount of memory being used by the software center
when installing items and continuing to use the UI at the same time
(over 1gb). I was able to reproduce at least one memory leak easily:

  1. Launch Ubuntu Software Center
  2. Launch System Monitor and find the "software-center" process under the
"Processes" tab
  3. In software center, click an item from the "What's New" list.
(memory should increase by about 10mb)
  4. Click Back
      (memory should increase more)
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the same item multiple times and watch the
memory increase without ever going back down.
