The fix on my previous comment did not work so I am switching to Nouveau display driver. :-S

It seems to stay that way until I switch to tty6 with ctrl+alt+f6 and then back to tty7 which has the display, this causes it to un-hang. This then happens back and forth. I am not sure but it might be triggered by clicking things, opening windows and such. The problem disappears when switching back to the open source driver. Should I try an even newer driver from nvidia, or is there any more information you need for troubleshooting?
