Title:
  libgl1-mesa-dri in Ubuntu 14.04 cannot provide 3D acceleration in
  VirtualBox

Status in unity-greeter package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  I tried both release and proposed versions of libgl1-mesa-dri
  (10.1.3-0ubuntu0.1 and 10.1.3-0ubuntu0.2). They both produce the same
  errors as shown below:

  $ LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo
  name of display: :0

  libGL: screen 0 does not appear to be DRI2 capable

  The workaround, as referenced in the following link, is to downgrade
libgl1-mesa-dri. I tried downgrading to 10.1.0-4ubuntu5 but it also didn't work.
