It gets stuck at the finishing end and does not return to the starting end with xsane, simple scan and gscan2pdf. However it works admirably well with vuescan. Even though the light is stuck at the finishing end, on starting vuescan the light returns to the starting end and the scanning is smooth with vuescan. The problem continues with xsane, simple scan and gscan2pdf, however. It seems to me to be a sane backend problem. I had stated this problem before and thought that the problem was solved. But it has not been solved.
