While Tux says "geeoky OS" to us, to most consumers it doesn't say 
anything at all - it's just a friendly little penguin. I think it's a very good
mark to use in promoting Linux, at least to consumers - people generally
like penguins. Business buyers, on the other hand, may find it a little
too playful (i.e., not -businesslike); one could ask whether Apple's playful
logo has been an impediment to selling into enterprise markets. I don't
think the logo has affected them as much as the higher price and the
connotation of elite-ness that Apple cultivates. We need to make sure
we have a blue-collar, working-class penguin...
