I think that's the case, apparently you need a modified boot image. Also if the phone doesn't show up in adb (or fastboot) make sure that your udev rules include entries for both ZTE and Google device. When rebooting in fastboot mode the device usually shows up with a Google USB ID, not ZTE. Gabriele
