Hi Fred,

I was the one implementing this feature in Settings (together with Arthur) and
other apps. You’re right that a number of badges there are not going to be
applicable with the new release. I do like your list a lot though. We probably
need to either update/trim the list, or add appropriate new ones, but that
would require UI work as well to come up with icons and copy for the
achievement text.

Subject:  Refine Achievements badges in settings

Hi,

Does anyone still working on Achievements?

For spark/ignite initiative the `Achievements` panel is introduced in settings
panel. I like that feature and collect all badges by trying all defined actions.

As time goes by the project decide to replace some features such as customizer
or hackerspace, and I'm not sure if Sharing app or Theme Editor(Studio) will be
shipped in 2.5.

So not all the badges in the `Achievements` panel will not be collectible for
users in shipping devices.

I'd suggest remove outdated badges and redesign some badges to
* help user familiar with os and try new features
* honor the Mozilla's value
* encourage participation

Here are some suggest actions to earn badges:

Help user familiar with os and try new features
* first time change home screens
* first time pin the web
* first time click user guide through settings>Help panel

Honor the Mozilla's value
* first time use privacy browsing
* first time check app permissions through settings>App
* first time change search engine through rocketbar
* login with firefox account
* first time read about:credit page through settings>Device Information>Credits
panel

Encourage participation
* login to buddyup or bugzilla lite

We could pick some of easy to achieve items and replace the deprecated badges
for 2.5. For the rest we could plan and brainstorm it in Orlando for v3.0.
Interested?
