I don't know in other phones but in Flame "Edge gestures" it's not smooth. Use case: from browse open in new window a heavy page an swipe back, it feels choppy. I will like to see use "APZ snap points " for transition between cards on Edge gestures. It's not only that it is "smoother" it feels more solid against system overload. Example, now the utility tray it's always smooth not matter if is downloading several apps, or uncompressing a system update.
