Problems with thankyou.txt message

Hello,   Neither me, nor my client, we DO NOT receive the thankyou.txt Please check. It is not a script problem, as even on the original downloaded 2.41 version, I do not receive any thankyou txt Could this be a problem with the use socket option which I have, put in to the reg_system.cgi but not the .biz and .info scripts?   Does anyone know what might be causing this.  I am running v2.41   With kind regards, For and on behalf of Secure24.net Inc.
