I'm cross-posting this to let people know that we are intending to upgrade the LDAP c-sdk that Thunderbird & SeaMonkey trunk builds use (Bug 325625).

This will allow the applications to pick up the many fixes that have been implemented in the LDAP c-sdk between 5.0 and 5.17.

This will hopefully take place tomorrow (7th April, probably about 14:00 UTC).

Whilst we expect there to be no problems with the compilation/running of the latest LDAP c-sdk, there may be conflicts with checking out the latest version. I believe this is most likely to occur with built directly in tree, where the object directory is the same as the source directory. All that should be required is to remove the conflicting files (which as far as I can tell are all called "Makefile") and pull/build again. I'll be making sure that there are some build people on standby.

Additionally, once the upgrade has been done we'd like people to test out LDAP functionality in the Thunderbird & SeaMonkey trunk builds and let us know about new problems via the normal channels.

Regards
Standard8
