That makes sense. I'll give it a go with the mozilla.org distribution.
While I expect your explanation will resolve the problem on my machine.
I'm going to have to come up with a game plan for users of the extension
who are in the same situation. Any suggestions? What are the ramifications
of shipping the .so in the global components directory (ie,
{extension}/components)?
I tried variations of "linux-gnu_x86-gcc3" platform specific directories
with no luck. That would be too easy ;-)
