The initial talk about us doing apps "differently" and "right" was that we were entirely in favour of a thousand stores, and no one store having a monopoly. AIUI, people who've tried to set up alternative Android stores have had a very difficult time of it. We should make sure we remove as many of those obstacles as possible in our implementation.
