Not sure if we maybe crossed meanings there. To be clearer/sure: I was saying that retiring 5.15.x now with 5.15.15 sounds like a plan, i.e. have the release page and announcements for 5.15.15 say its the last intended 5.15.x and upgrade to 5.16.x. (Given that, it might make sense to do both releases at the same time)
