Hi Fortytwoo,

thanks for the translation offer. I assume a Simplified Chinese translation would make much sense. I don't know how large the user base is but potentially large. Thanks for offering translation and the PR I saw as well. Without looking at the content technically this looks OK.

Do you have a realtion to any committer in Airflow already? Because first thing we would need is also a "Sponsor". Best would be also some other person who knows chinese to make a proof reading.

Unfortunately I have no knowledge myself so would not be a good fit. I know ASF does not want to be political and the (local) situation might be a bit "heated" but I know we have some committers from Taiwan.

Dear Airflow community,
I am Fortytwoo, a native Chinese (zh-CN) speaker, and I would like to
contribute to the Airflow project by adding Simplified Chinese translations to
the Airflow UI. This is my first major open-source contribution, and I am eager
to learn and follow the community's guidelines and standards.
About my contribution:
- I have completed the Simplified Chinese (zh-CN) translation for the Airflow UI
- The translation files are available in my fork:
https://github.com/Fortytwoo/airflow/tree/feature/i18n-chinese
- I have followed the i18n guidelines as documented in
airflow-core/src/airflow/ui/public/i18n/README.md
My qualifications:
- I am a native Simplified Chinese (zh-CN) speaker
- I have experience in both English and Chinese technical documentation
- While this is my first major PR, I am committed to learning and following all
community guidelines and standards
- I am prepared to maintain and update the translations as needed
I am looking for a translation sponsor to guide me through this contribution
process. I would particularly appreciate guidance from the UI team members
(@bbovenzi, @pierrejeambrun, @ryanahamilton, @jscheffl, @shubhamraj-git).
I understand that:
1. This is a significant responsibility that requires ongoing maintenance
2. I need to follow the Apache Airflow community guidelines and standards
3. I may need to make adjustments based on community feedback
I am committed to:
- Responding promptly to feedback
- Making necessary improvements to the translations
- Learning and following community best practices
- Maintaining the translations over time
Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to your guidance and the
opportunity to contribute to the Airflow project.
Best regards,
Fortytwoo
