Hello here,

I am happy to announce that at yesterday's ASF members meeting, two of
our community members, Jens Scheffler and Amogh Desai, were voted to
be invited as Apache Software Foundation members and they accepted the
invitation.

I congratulate both of them - that was certainly deserved!

ASF membership is merit-based and invitation-only; you can read more
about it in [1]. As an ASF member, your only obligation is to vote
once a year (for the board and new members); you also gain access to
ASF-internal discussions and records. However many members become (if
they are not already) Apache Way ambassadors and mentors. They often
bridge the ASF and PMCs because they have more insight into the
Foundation's inner workings.

Jens and Amogh join Bolke, Ash, Kaxil, Pavan, Elad, and me as ASF
members—we now have quite strong representation in the ASF.

J.
