I also notice that the documentation relies heavily on seemingly proprietary 
bits from datatorrent.

Is there a plan in place to update the docs so users can follow them purely 
with ASF software? 

I don't like the idea of having a dependency on proprietary software in order 
to learn how to use ASF software.
