[~csingh] [~timothyfarkas] Any update on this? We need to get the in-memory 
implementations in place to move forward with the join operators. Also there 
was a discussion somewhere about using Slice instead of byte[], please check.

[~csingh] It would be great if you could verify that the proposed interfaces 
will work with managed state back implementation in a scalable and performant 
manner and document this here. If not, we need to adjust the interfaces.
