This sounds like we've committed to the new sequence diagrams for the next release and we'll delay the release as long as necessary to make that happen. Wouldn't it be better to: - get an estimate of how long the new work will take to finish (including conversion, backward compatibility, whatever else is needed for the user experience) - look at when we want our next release to be - see if the two are mutually compatible? Once we start allowing people to create new style sequence diagrams, we've effectively committed to supporting them unless we have huge blinking warning lights around them. None of this should be interpreted as a negative feedback on the quality of the new sequence diagram implementation. I haven't had a chance to look at it. It may be completely ready to drop in and ship, but we should still do the planning appropriately.
