hi.
i looked at the profiles and how to use them. if i understand these
things right, i can only apply objects from a profile as a stereotype
and then add some tagged values. the tagged values are just strings, so
i can't put in a reference to a class or an other modelobject there.
i want to define meta-model-extensions using mof. a simple task would be
to define a subclass of the "normal" uml-class, name it "MyFancyClass"
and add a mof-attribute to it.
then i want to instantiate this extended class as a modelobject, by
selecting it from a toolbar or use a stereotype on a normal class.
the property-pane to edit the modelobject should then show the attribute
which was defined in mof in a appropriate way. so if the attribute is of
the type "class" i can select any class of the model using a combobox,
just as i can do this for a normal class-property. the difference is,
that this property doesn't show up as a class- oder instance-property,
because it's an attribute of the metaobject.
these things should be possible using mof 1.4, the mdr-repository should
be able to handle this, too.
i believe that all things that are needed to do this are available in
argouml, so i think it's possible to realize the above things.
can i do this with argouml? if not: what do i have to do make this work?
any hints or ideas?
yours
alexander
