You need not just the helloworld YAML file, but also all the scripts it references. Try copying the whole examples directory to make sure.
We are planning to eventually display a validation error if the YAML file references artifacts that don't exist, so you wouldn't have to wait until execution to see the error. This would be part of our general work on improving artifact support.
