@jjh-aicas - This is a slightly cut down version of what you proposed in #33, including a fix to prevent more accidental dependencies leaking in. As the tests require Java 16+ to compile I didn't see much value in removing their references to Java 9 API. My main reason for not simply merging the existing PR was the loss of immutability.
