Ok, got it. So, it means that Kafka doesn't need anything but a JRE - similar
to Spark.
Hence, I think this ticket can be re-purposed to dev. env. issue only. Hence my
earlier question: shall we simply go with a modification of BIGTOP-932, e.g.
setting up Scala using a puppet dev. recipe?
