Yes that seems like the right call as long as all scala components support
sbt's 'assembly' (creating a standalone fat jar).
Currently building kafka bootstraps sbt - it would be nice if sbt can be added
to the build environment at the same level as mvn, ant or
some other build tools. In that case perhaps this ticket could be repurposed to
'Add scala's sbt to build environment'.
