Components which have a Hadoop dependency and also include generated protobuf
code should regenerate with Hadoop's version of the compiler, and update their
dependency to Hadoop's version of the runtime support. Otherwise there can be
problems manifesting as Java linkage errors or runtime exceptions from the
protobuf library. What you get depends on which version of protobuf comes first
in classpath roulette.
