hadoop upgrade

hi all,
I am new to bigtop community, so please forgive me if this is a well known
question. Currently bigtop is hosting debian package for hadoop 2.0.6alpha.
what is the plan to upgrade this package to the latest hadoop (i.e. 2.3.0)?
 And how may I be of any assistance.
