Thanks guys. I've created two Jiras:
BIGTOP-1623: Add smoke tests for Kafka
BIGTOP-1624: Add puppet recipes for deploying Kafka.
I haven't written puppet recipes before, but would be willing to pick that task
up and get something out soon. Also, volunteer to be the maintainer for Kafka
packaging.
