I'd suggest you to do your own assessment and think about the scope of the project, which you consider feasible given your skill set and prior experience. As part of the application it's good to provide a timeline with specific objectives you can accomplish. Here comes another hint that the sooner you start working on a draft of application, which you share with us, the more feedback you can get from us. Also it's a good practice to tackle a few issues, before even applying to support your candidature and get some better understanding of the project. So feel free to pick any JIRA issue within the Camel project and work on it. It's good to start from a small issue, which you can do quickly and send us a PR for review and next move on to something more challenging. If you find it hard to pick something to start with, do let us know! I'm sure we'll be able to provide some suggestions.
