Hi
Tim,
I
wonder whether we should consider moving towards conditional compilation with
Castor. That would imply, though, that not all features would be available for a
particular JDK.
Werner
Hi
Werner,
yeah, we're trying to move
away from JDK 1.2 (WAS 4.0) as quickly as possible.
I will plug Castor JD0 0.9.7 and 0.9.9 into our apps as
soon as possible.

Hi Tim,
ideally, less than two months, if possible. And I
guess you would want to use upcoming releases like 0.9.7 or 0.9.9 on JDK 1.2,
correct ?
Regards
Werner

Subject: Re: [castor-dev] Castor and
JDK 1.2
Hi Werner & Co.
we are still using JDK 1.2
as part of WebSphere Application Server 4.0.
There is work underway
here to migrate to WebSphere Application Server 5.1 which uses JDK 1.3. IBM no
longer supports WAS 4.0, hence the move.
I suspect we will be using
WAS 4 (and JDK 1.2) for the next 3 months (6 months at the worst) during the
transition.
What time frame are you thinking of for migrating from JDK
1.2 to 1.3 ?
Thanks.
Tim.

Subject[castor-dev] Castor and JDK
1.2
Hi,
as we are trying to make some
decisions with regards to future features, we'd be interested to learn if
there's still users out
there that require Castor (JDO) to work with JDK
1.2. If that's the case, can you please come forward and indicate to us why
this would still be required ? If I don't hear from anybody within a
couple of days, we'll assume that we can move to JDK 1.3 as
the least
common
denominator.
Thanks
Werner
