one note regarding the regression tests - check if there are still
background processes running because they will break the next test run
as well.

I know some time ago I had some fixes to the OpenVMS support. Sadly I
had to move on to something else before I got round to submitting them.
Java has dropped slightly on the priority list for the next few months
:-(.
I will have some time over the next few days to check this out and
hopefully pass on my fixes.
That would be very good.
I can help with testing any such changes (I have an account on the
OpenVMS Open Source test systems, and used to work a lot on VMS).
