Well, a good logo is not just a question of preference; e.g. there may be some design guidelines which not everyone is aware of, or pay attention to, or otherwise finds appealing. More importantly the ASF board has decided (AFAIK) to again change the "graphical identity" of the foundation; so this probably not the right time for reviving such discussion.
