Hey all, Hanging out at the booth at GOTO Chicago, talking to Kanchana- we got to kicking around an idea for doing an Apache Roadshow in Chicago for 2019.
There's a number of good reasons to do this- but the main ones are: - There's an industrial balanced between FinTech, established large corps, marketing, and startups. However, often these devs are unable to travel to West Coast/East Coast for financial / time constraints. (Supports multiple tracks). - Chicago is an airline hub (direct flights on almost any airline from almost anywhere). - Venues are accessible. - There's a lot of interest in ASF by evidence of strong meetup communities around various Apache projects. - Chicago has never had an Apache event! / :'( Chicago is most beautiful in end of spring and mid fall. I know there's a lot of talk around several other conferences, PLUS GOTO Chicago next year, but we wanted to gauge how supportive everyone one might be of this idea. If no one objects we'll put together a formal proposal. Thanks! tg
