 Review comment:
   I forgot these are signed. So there are extrema both positive future 
date/times and past date/times. 
   
   Back of the envelope calculation shows that 64-bits of milliseconds can 
represent a delta of like 50+ million years, so yeah, they can go way beyond 
4-digit years.
