After ApacheCon 2019 (where I first learned about Graal VM) I spent a little time playing with GraalVM to build a native binary with the help of sbt-native-packager.

I believe I was able to get a native binary built after only a couple of small changes, but overall it wasn't too difficult, and things might be better now that it's a couple years later. As I recall, the startup time was much better than OpenJDK, but the runtime performance was quite a bit slower.

I still have that branch if there's interest in what changes needed to be main, but I'm sure it doesn't rebase cleanly at all since it's so old.

I haven't used it as a normal JVM.
