Regarding your comments,

1) Having committers stay indefinitely makes sense to me.  I'll update the
wiki page.
2) Having PMC == committers also makes sense to me.  I'll email all the
current committers if they are willing to join the PMC.
3) I'll kick off a release vote soon with the sha512 fix.
