An environment fronts *ApacheDS* with an *LDAP*-inspecting gateway that blocks
filters touching _(userPassword=*)_.
The attacker tucks an extra _(userPassword=*)_ _equalityMatch_ *TLV* inside a
substring element's *TLV* — the gateway's conformant parser errors out or sees
only the benign clauses, while this codec evaluates the smuggled clause as a
sibling filter.
