Hi *, since Mike didn't answer my mail yet, I thought I can just repeat it here as well...

My disk was full, so I was having some trouble > rsyncing ;) but now the torrents are up and running; happy downloading As you might know already, we (german lang Team) set up our own tracker [1] to distribute the Images using BitTorrent since the ISOs did not show up at your tracker (now I know the reason for that, but while we were preparing the release we kind of wondered whether there will be a dvd torrent at...) The transfer quickly summed up to over 3 TB (and that with only one single "server-seed" and that only serving at 6 to 7 MB/s) - so it was quite a success and a need to get this running quickly (esp since there are only few mirrors that host the DVD) As you already mentioned it would be desireable if everything could be held in one place, i.e. every torrent should be available form a single place. I totally agree with you. To solve this problem (splitting of torrents over multiple trackers) I was thinking of either creating linked trackers or at least multitracker torrents. (So that ooodev would start to track the new images and when borft has synced it would quit tracking that torrent and hand over to borft) Would this be possible from your side? Or would it be possible for you to seed torrents tracked at ooodev and merely list them at your tracker as external? Having a fallback wouldn't hurt either.. ################### And another thing: Your version of the DVD-torrent is split into more than 15 thousand pieces - to me that seem to be very much (I guess a torrent should have around 1200 to 2000 pieces for a good balance between "not too much overhead" and "help peers get started") ciao Christian [1] http://www.ooodev.org:6969/ -- NP: Faith No More - King For A Day --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
