To clarify: The tracker itself doesn't use much bandwidth, and the cpu usage is not really a problem here (at least with the about 200 to 220 downloads in the OOo-Network) ooodev (one of the trackers in the network I take care of) has a load-average of: 0.08, 0.08, 0.07 So not really an issue. What will cause bandwidth is the seeds that will start automatically then... CPU usage was only a problem when the network/disk couldn't keep up. But then it wasn't rtorrent (the program that seeds on ooodev) or the tracker that grabbed the CPU, but it was wa time (wa = waiting for i/o) There's an easy way to avoid this though: Limit your upload in rtorrent (or, as was the case when that happened: cut ftp-downloads :-))) > Alex Fisher wrote: > > On Wednesday 25 April 2007, Harold Feit wrote: > >> Alex Fisher wrote: > >>>> Maybe port 6969. Also note that there is no limitation on what port you can use, just make sure it is open and your client is configured to use that port :-) > > > I think it's ok there. And yes, the /announce should be part of the announce-URL, but see above, the tracker-network doesn't accept torrent-uploads from .. ciao Christian -- NP: Billy Talent - River Below --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
